Woofun AI reports that Mirae Asset Consulting, a non-financial subsidiary of Mirae Asset Group, is set to hold a 97.15% equity stake in the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Korbit. The transaction involves the acquisition of 91.7% equity completed on July 22, with the remaining 5.42% expected to be acquired on July 24 to finalize the deal.
The total investment amount increases from approximately 133.48 billion Korean won to approximately 141.367 billion Korean won, raising total holdings from roughly 26,905,800 shares to 28,495,700 shares. Korbit confirmed that existing services will continue, with user deposits and crypto assets managed separately in accordance with the Virtual Asset User Protection Act, while Korbit remains the data controller for personal information.
