The incident, occurring between 12:37 PM and 1:25 PM Eastern Time, impacted retail, institutional, and developer platforms, preventing deposits, withdrawals, and off-platform transactions. Coinbase Card debit purchases were declined, while credit card transactions remained unaffected.

The outage also disrupted on-chain swaps on Base and Solana via Coinbase DEX, causing delayed or failed transfers for Exchange and Prime customers. Coinbase confirmed that customer funds were not at risk and announced plans to implement naming conflict checks, separate recovery tools from managed infrastructure, and increase testing frequency for emergency access procedures.
