Woofun AI reports that Coinbase intends to expand its Singapore operations, increasing staff numbers from 150 to approximately 200 by the end of 2026. The exchange will prioritize hiring engineers, customer service agents, relationship managers, and institutional sales representatives for its new office at One Raffles Quay. Hassan Ahmed, Coinbase’s country director for Singapore, stated that the city-state is becoming a strategic hub for cryptocurrency innovation. Coinbase holds a major payment institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), obtained in October 2023, which allows it to serve local individuals and institutions. The MAS oversees digital payment token service providers and listed 38 licensed entities recently, following tightened licensing requirements in 2025 that forced unlicensed firms out of the market.
