Bithumb Introduces Video Verification for Elderly Users to Prevent Fraud
2026-07-23 19:40

Woofun AI reports that South Korean exchange Bithumb has implemented a video call identity verification process specifically for elderly users. This measure aims to prevent financial crimes including identity theft, account rentals, and investment scams. If video verification reveals the account is not operated by the registered individual, login access is immediately restricted. The system will attempt contact up to four times if the user does not answer. Should verification ultimately fail, withdrawal and asset transfer functions remain suspended until identity confirmation is completed.
