CHR Plunges 24% After Attacker Drains $2.26M From Single Holder Wallet
2026-07-23 22:14

Woofun AI reports that Chromia clarified the recent volatility in CHR was caused by the compromise of a single long-term holder's wallet, rather than any exploit within the protocol infrastructure. The project confirmed that neither the CHR token contract, the bridge, nor the core protocol suffered a hack.

An attacker accessed the holder's wallet and transferred approximately $2.26 million in assets, including 28.7 million CHR tokens, to a new address over a period of 2.5 hours before liquidating the funds. This selling pressure drove CHR down by 23.96% in the last four hours, with the token currently trading at 0.013 USDT.
