Woofun AI reports that Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger confirmed the acceleration of the 14A process timeline, with risk production commencing in the second half of 2027 and mass production scheduled for 2028, ahead of previous targets. The company has also initiated risk production for the 18A-P process, with Gelsinger expressing confidence in performance, power, density, cost, and schedule metrics.

Citing strong customer demand signals, Intel revised its 2026 capital expenditure upward to over $20 billion, with CFO David Zinsner noting that 2027 spending will exceed 2026 levels. Between 2021 and 2026, U.S. tool and factory capital expenditures will total nearly $100 billion, surpassing any other semiconductor firm, while equipment purchases are set to rise 40% in 2026 compared to 2025.
