Woofun AI data shows that the implicit debt scale generated by AI infrastructure expansion for Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle has reached $1.65 trillion, representing an eightfold increase over four years and surpassing their combined on-balance sheet debt of $1.35 trillion. Under US GAAP standards, undelivered equipment purchases and unused data center leases are excluded from immediate balance sheet inclusion, with obligations disclosed only in financial footnotes.

Moody’s data indicates these companies have signed but unrecorded data center lease commitments totaling approximately $662 billion, equaling 113% of their adjusted debt. As agreements take effect, over $500 billion may transfer to formal statements. Capital expenditures remain high, with Alphabet targeting $85 billion for fiscal 2025, Microsoft reporting $34.9 billion for Q1 fiscal 2026, Amazon planning around $2 trillion for 2026, Meta expecting $600 billion to $650 billion for 2025, and Oracle expecting $90 billion to $95 billion for fiscal 2027.
