Woofun AI reports that Elon Musk stated artificial intelligence may surpass human intelligence within the next five years during an interview with The Economist. He predicted that around 2036, the importance of money could significantly decrease as AI and robots drive the world into a highly prosperous era.
Musk argued that sufficient digital intelligence and production capabilities could lead to a "quasi-infinite economy," where human work is no longer necessary for survival. He suggested that governments might distribute funds directly to the public and noted that AI-driven productivity improvements could cause deflation rather than inflation.
Additionally, Musk discussed using space-based data centers for AI computing and admitted he devoted too much energy to the Department of Government Efficiency.
