Japan Bitcoin ETF Listing Window Opens in 2028 Amid Regulatory Shift

Woofun AI reports that Japanese regulators are modifying the legal framework for digital assets, potentially allowing spot Bitcoin ETF listings as early as 2028. On July 15, Japan's Diet transferred Bitcoin and 105 other crypto assets from the Payment Services Act to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, removing a key barrier for Tokyo Stock Exchange listings.

SBI Holdings and Nomura are developing digital asset products. The government also plans to lower the crypto tax rate from a maximum of 55% under miscellaneous income rules to approximately 20.315% via a separate self-assessment system.
