Google, Meta, TikTok, and Alibaba have disclosed plans to deploy AI-driven detection systems to identify and remove related content from their platforms.

Concurrently, PayPal, TRM Labs, Chainalysis, and Luno have pledged to collaborate on severing the financial channels supporting these illegal activities. Vodafone, Vodacom, and Safaricom will leverage AI to strengthen anti-money laundering protocols and transaction monitoring within the M-Pesa mobile payment ecosystem. British Airways and Heathrow Airport are also initiating public awareness campaigns. According to the United Nations Environment Programme, this illicit trade generates up to $23 billion annually, posing an existential threat to approximately 1 million species.
