Woofun AI reports that Base mainnet experienced two block generation interruptions on June 25th and 26th, lasting approximately 116 minutes and 20 minutes respectively. The incidents stemmed from a logical defect in the sequencer's block construction mechanism, where failed transactions left uncleared historical journal states, causing abnormal gas calculations and subsequent network halts. Although on-chain assets remained secure and accessible, users faced mempool congestion and errors when executing `eth_sendRawTransaction`. A patch (PR 3806) resolved the core issue, though a race condition during sequencer cluster restart caused a secondary delay. Base plans to enhance fuzz testing and implement graceful recovery mechanisms to prevent future occurrences.
