Woofun AI reports that Amazon Web Services has established a new Forward-Deployed Engineers (FDE) organization with a $1 billion resource allocation. This internal funding supports embedding engineers within enterprise clients to deploy customized AI agents and foster autonomous capability enhancement.

The model mirrors strategies adopted by OpenAI and Anthropic, who have launched similar programs valued at $4 billion and $1.5 billion respectively. AWS AI leader Francesca Vasquez stated the initiative will provide agentic systems running within the AWS environment while exporting reusable engineering methods and workflows.
