BlackCat Co-conspirator's $8.37M Crypto and Assets Seized by US Court

Woofun AI reports that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida has ordered the forfeiture of digital assets held by Angelo Martino, a co-conspirator in the BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware group. The seized crypto includes 90.319 BTC, 7999.873 XMR, and minor amounts of XRP, XLM, and SOL, totaling approximately $8.37 million. The BTC component is valued at roughly $5.84 million, while the XMR portion accounts for about $2.46 million, with other tokens contributing around $71,000.

In addition to the cryptocurrency, the court mandated the seizure of two Florida properties, vehicles, and a boat. Martino, who acted as a ransomware negotiator, received a 70-month prison sentence for leaking client negotiation details to attackers and participating in ransomware operations.
