Woofun AI data shows that approximately $764 million was stolen from crypto projects in the second quarter, with 88.3% of incidents involving compromised keys, signers, or infrastructure. Hacken’s report indicates that among 1,427 tracked projects, only 9% utilized third-party monitoring, while just 4% combined monitoring, bug bounties, and audits. The affected components included signing devices, cross-chain bridge validators, backend systems, admin keys, and deprecated active contracts. Although 14 attacked projects had prior audits, losses primarily stemmed from areas outside traditional smart contract review scopes.
