Woofun AI data shows that foreign investors applied to invest 13.7 trillion Thai baht (approximately $406 billion) in Thailand during the first half of 2026, marking an 80% year-over-year increase. The surge is primarily attributed to a boom in artificial intelligence and data center project investments.

Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary-General of the Thailand Board of Investment, stated that the board received 1,299 domestic and foreign investment applications totaling 14.7 trillion Thai baht by June 30th. Of these, 877 were foreign direct investment projects, with the digital sector accounting for 11.2 trillion Thai baht, or more than three-quarters of the total. These figures indicate that despite rising energy costs linked to Middle East conflicts, Thailand remains attractive to investors.
