Woofun AI reports that Visa released a joint study with Artemis titled "Agentic Payments from the Ground Up", analyzing AI agent payment trends. The research categorizes these payments into high-value commercial transactions and sub-dollar machine-to-machine exchanges. Since its May 2025 launch, the x402 protocol has processed approximately $15 million in adjusted volume across 1.096 billion transactions, primarily on Base, Solana, and Polygon networks. In contrast, the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), launched in March 2026, has settled around $25,000 across 115,000 transactions.
