Woofun AI reports that Mauro Liu, a North Korean hacker associated with the Lazarus Group and linked to Consensys, previously held positions at Ankr, Blueberry Protocol, Clover Network, Harmony, and DEPO. Consensys engaged the individual, using the alias Tyler Knapp, through a third-party service provider earlier this year, granting system access for approximately one month before identifying the ties to North Korea.

Consensys general counsel Matt Corva clarified that the developer operated as a consultant rather than an employee. Upon detection of the threat, the company immediately revoked access and initiated an investigation, which confirmed that no assets or data were stolen and no malicious code was deployed.
