Woofun AI reports that South Korean National Tax Service officials have proposed amending the Criminal Procedure Act to facilitate the seizure of individually held virtual assets. The proposal addresses scenarios where individuals retain private keys without third-party custody. In June, four officials, including investigation team head Zhang Xiyuan, published a paper in "Criminal Policy Research" outlining necessary legislative adjustments. The study argues for specific regulations regarding transfers to public wallets or control acquisition. It mandates that search warrants explicitly detail asset types, quantities, verified addresses, transfer methods, and post-transfer storage. To mitigate theft risks associated with single-entity managed wallets, the paper recommends using joint addresses controlled by both the court and investigative agencies.
