2026-07-20 15:19

Woofun AI reports that Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron have ceased in-house development of Compute Express Link (CXL) controllers, pivoting to solutions from external fabless firms. Micron has halted its self-developed controller R&D and adopted PrimeMass's solution. SK Hynix notified partners of terminating its internal CXL controller project, reassigning personnel to processing-in-memory (PIM) initiatives. Samsung Electronics now uses its self-developed CXL controller solely for internal research, sourcing external product controllers from fabless suppliers.
