Woofun AI reports that Jensen Huang published an open letter titled "Open Weights and U.S. Leadership in AI" on X Corp, advocating against restrictions on "AI distillation" technology. The document posits that US leadership depends on building a robust, open ecosystem rather than relying solely on individual model strength, with open weights models serving as the foundation. As of now, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google have not signed the letter. Over 20 entities, including NVIDIA, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, Palantir, CrowdStrike, IBM, ServiceNow, Hugging Face, Mistral AI, Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, and Perplexity, have endorsed the initiative.
