Sequoia and a16z Sign MOU with Korea NPS to Boost AI Investment
Six top US VCs partner with Korea's NPS to share investment intel in AI and semiconductors. This collaboration aims to align private capital with the 200 trillion won National Growth Fund.
Woofun AI reports that Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and NEA have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea National Pension Service. The agreement establishes a framework for joint exploration of investment opportunities and information sharing, specifically targeting strategic sectors including artificial intelligence and semiconductors.
This partnership coincides with South Korea’s policy push to attract foreign venture capital, supported by the 200 trillion won National Growth Fund. While the influx of policy and private capital is expected to deepen liquidity in these sectors, industry observers caution that concentrated funding could inflate valuations, potentially creating bubble risks and complicating future exit valuations during IPOs or M&A activities.
