Galaxy Acquires 500 Acres in Texas for AI Data Center Complex

Galaxy secures 500-acre site in McGregor, Texas, to build an AI and HPC data center. Phase 1 targets 74MW capacity with power supply expected in 2028.

Woofun AI reports that Galaxy has acquired approximately 500 acres of land in McGregor, McLennan County, Texas, under a development agreement with the city. The site, located within the McGregor Industrial Park, will host an artificial intelligence and high-performance computing data center complex. Galaxy is currently establishing the necessary power infrastructure and has reached preliminary agreements with electricity providers to support connectivity facilities.

The first phase of development is projected to have an installed capacity of 74 megawatts. Galaxy intends to coordinate with utility partners to surpass the 75 megawatt threshold established by ERCOT. Power supply for the initial phase is estimated to commence in 2028, followed by gradual operational expansion contingent on development milestones. The company projects that the McGregor Park could evolve into a complex with a capacity of hundreds of megawatts by 2030, assuming continued transmission infrastructure improvements by electricity providers.
