Ostium OLP Treasury Loses $23.75M USDC to Off-Chain Infrastructure Breach
Arbitrum RWA platform Ostium reports $23.75M USDC stolen from OLP vault via off-chain hack. Smart contracts remained secure; trading resumed July 23 after circuit breakers activated.
Woofun AI reports that Ostium, an RWA trading platform on Arbitrum, disclosed a breach of its off-chain infrastructure on July 15, resulting in the theft of 23,752,746 USDC from the public OLP liquidity provider vault. Attackers exploited access to submit unauthorized BTC-USD price reports and executed repeated trades to generate illicit profits. The incident did not involve smart contract logic vulnerabilities or governance multisig breaches, and trader USDC margins remained untouched. Circuit breakers triggered twice to halt further withdrawals, and trading contracts were frozen on the same day. Trading resumed in a new production environment on July 23. The team is collaborating with security firms for on-chain tracking and fund recovery, with details on the liquidity provider restoration plan to be announced later.
