Samsung Electronics Commits 800 Billion KRW to Semiconductor and DX Startup Ventures
Samsung allocates 800 billion KRW across two new venture portfolios, SVIC No. 82 and No. 83, targeting semiconductor innovation and Device eXperience technology acquisition.
Woofun AI reports that Samsung Electronics has outlined a strategy to deploy 800 billion KRW into semiconductor and Device eXperience (DX) startups. The company will partner with Samsung Venture Investment to establish two distinct funds. For SVIC No. 82, Samsung Electronics contributes 505 billion KRW while Samsung Venture Investment adds 5 billion KRW. This 13-year portfolio focuses on securing equity stakes in global semiconductor firms to build technology partnerships. Capital will be deployed in installments as opportunities emerge, with the fund launching next month.
Separately, Samsung Electronics and Samsung Venture Investment will allocate 303 billion KRW and 3 billion KRW respectively to SVIC No. 83. This 10-year fund aims to identify emerging technologies to enhance the DX division's competitiveness. Contributions to this portfolio will also occur in installments upon closing specific deals.
