WEMIX Illegally Issues 5.22M Tokens via Smart Contract Exploit
Attacker exploited DIOS and AMA contract vulnerabilities to illegally mint 5.2255M WEMIX tokens. WEMIX confirms no private key leaks or internal system intrusions occurred.
Woofun AI reports that WEMIX released an analysis regarding a security incident involving the unauthorized issuance of 5.2255 million WEMIX tokens. On July 26, ownership of the DIOS and AMA smart contracts was transferred to an unauthorized third party. The attacker deployed a malicious contract, seized control of the affected contracts, and executed nine rounds of flash loan and swap transactions to facilitate the illegal minting. WEMIX confirmed that the incident did not involve intrusion into internal systems or the leakage of administrator private keys, but rather the exploitation of a vulnerability in publicly disclosed on-chain smart contracts.
