China AI Model Downloads Surpass 10 Billion as Legislation Accelerates

Domestic large model global downloads exceed 10 billion. NDRC confirms accelerated AI Law legislative process alongside pilot base construction and security framework development.

Woofun AI reports that the National Development and Reform Commission announced global download volumes for domestic large models have surpassed 10 billion. Director Jiang Yi noted that independent innovation pace accelerated in the first half of the year, with firms like Deep Exploration and Dark Side of the Moon releasing trillion-parameter open-source models. Future efforts will target basic theory, training efficiency, multimodality, and intelligent agents, while expanding national AI application pilot bases and cultivating derivative enterprises.

The commission emphasized a coordinated approach to development and security, accelerating the "Artificial Intelligence Law" legislative process. This includes building a "development-regulation-security" closed-loop system, establishing technical monitoring and risk warning mechanisms, and adhering to human-centric principles to address impacts on economic operations and employment distribution.
