He characterized the current environment as a "defender's window period."

OpenAI is implementing four protective measures: deploying models like Codex to automatically review and fix security flaws during development; maintaining 24/7 model monitoring of infrastructure with machine-speed alert responses; utilizing advanced intelligence to identify and verify potential attack vectors; and reinforcing architectural mechanisms such as least privilege, layered defense, network isolation, and security patches.
