Ronin Migrates to Ethereum Layer 2 on May 12 with OP Stack Architecture

2026-04-29 15:23:38

Ronin shifts to Ethereum L2 on May 12 using OP Stack, causing 10-hour downtime. RON inflation drops from 20% to under 1%, while treasury fees rise.

Woofun AI reports that the gaming public chain Ronin will execute its migration to Ethereum Layer 2 on May 12. This architectural shift relies on the OP Stack and integrates EigenDA as the data availability layer, necessitating an approximate 10-hour suspension of on-chain operations before normal services resume. Users are advised to manually release their RON pledges prior to the migration or await automatic processing post-upgrade.

This transition significantly alters the economic model, reducing the annual RON inflation rate from over 20% to below 1%.

Concurrently, the treasury will capture recurring revenue streams from pledges, Sequencer net profits, and Marketplace transaction fees, with the latter increasing from 0.5% to 1.25%.

Additionally, a new monthly reward mechanism based on the "Builder Score" will be deployed to distribute RON to ecosystem contributors.
