DefiLlama Integrates Forgd Leaderboard to Standardize DeFi Liquidity Metrics

Key Takeaways

DefiLlama integrates Forgd’s market-maker leaderboard, applying standardized metrics on spreads and depth across 500 projects. This collaboration enhances liquidity transparency by verifying execution quality and reliability data from 35 firms.

Woofun AI reports that DefiLlama has integrated Forgd’s market-maker leaderboard, that aims to standardize the assessment of liquidity providers. The dashboard ranks crypto market makers using standardized measures of pricing, depth, reliability, and execution quality, allowing users to compare performance across exchanges.

The underlying dataset aggregates information from more than 500 token projects and 35 market-making firms that utilize Forgd’s tools. Monitored by Woofun AI, this integration provides access to critical metrics including spreads, market depth, trading volume, and uptime. Originally launched in May as a selection tool for token projects monitoring liquidity providers, the leaderboard now enables DefiLlama users to assess the specific liquidity supporting individual tokens through these standardized measures.

Ryan Celaj, head of research at DefiLlama, noted that the integration adds a crucial signal for evaluating execution quality and market resilience alongside traditional volume metrics.

However, Forgd CEO Shane Molidor clarified that ratings do not solely reflect observed trading performance. "A lower grade on the index is not necessarily a judgment of a firm’s trading," Molidor stated, explaining that it often indicates a firm has not fully opted into performance verification. Consequently, the leaderboard ratings may also reflect the volume of data provision rather than just trading outcomes.

Financial terms for the integration remain undisclosed by both Forgd and DefiLlama. Further comment was sought regarding the partnership structure. This development marks a significant step toward greater transparency in DeFi liquidity assessment.
