RIOT Secures $9.1B Anthropic Deal; AI Data Center Revenue Inflection Expected in Late 2027

Woofun AI reports that Riot Platforms has entered a $9.1 billion agreement with Anthropic, spanning 20 years and potentially expanding to $16.1 billion if all options are exercised. AMD has also activated expansion options within its existing RIOT contract, while another 1GW RIOT facility has secured letters of intent from prospective tenants.

Serenity indicates that the revenue turning point for most AI data center hosting companies is likely to occur in the second half of 2027. Specifically, RIOT's partnership with Anthropic is set to deliver the initial 96MW of capacity by December 2027, whereas AMD's associated 50MW facility is projected to become fully operational by May 2027. The analyst noted the transition of former Bitcoin mining entities like IREN into AI data center and hash rate infrastructure providers.
