Cardano Dijkstra Roadmap Reveals Leios Launch This Year and Peras Activation in 2027

The initial phase, targeting the fourth quarter of 2026, introduces the Linear Leios scaling solution, which utilizes an endorsement block mechanism to allow the stake committee to validate additional transactions while maintaining the Praos security model. This phase also includes nested transactions, new serialization structures, and updates to PlutusV4. The second phase plans to activate the Ouroboros Peras consensus protocol via a separate hard fork, with a target activation date in the second quarter of 2027.

Furthermore, Cardano intends to submit amendments adding Dijkstra-related parameters by September 11. The Rust-based node client Amaru, which already supports relay and chain synchronization, aims for a mainnet launch by November 2026. Intersect clarifies that these schedules are estimates rather than firm commitments, noting that governance processes and community testing could lead to activation delays.
