Versatile RobotX Secures Over 1.17 Million Euro in Funding

UK agri-robotics firm Versatile RobotX raises >1.17M EUR from Design Council and Innovate UK, validating automated harvesting tech post-field tests.

Capital was provided by the Design Council, the second round of the Innovate UK Growth Catalyst investor partnership program, and grants from Defra's Agricultural Innovation Programme.

Founded in July 2024 by Professor Klaus McDonald-Maier and Dr. Vishwanathan Mohan, the company develops automated fruit and vegetable picking robots alongside hydroponic robot harvesters. These core products have completed field testing at established British farms, including Wilkin & Sons.
