Ethereum Foundation Launches Platåberget Testnet for Glamsterdam Upgrade

The Glamsterdam fork is scheduled for activation on this testnet on August 20th, with tools available for one-click configuration and test ETH distribution. Key modifications include Enshrined Proposer-Builder Separation, Block-Level Access Lists, revised gas fee pricing targeting a minimum of around 200 million gas units, and increased contract size limits from 24KiB to 64KiB. The team warns that wallets and indexers relying on hardcoded maximum gas limits must be updated. Following feedback integration, a non-final devnet will be released within a month to test abnormal consensus scenarios, before the upgrade proceeds to Sepolia, Hoodi, and ultimately the Ethereum Mainnet.
