Key Takeaways
AVAX One holds $88 million in Avalanche tokens but faces a lender demanding cash or Bitcoin. Following CEO Kahn’s exit, the firm accepted tougher terms, including accelerated repayments and a 180-day deadline to appoint a permanent chief executive.
Woofun AI reports that AVAX One’s strategic pivot to digital assets has collided with rigid lender preferences, leaving the firm holding $88 million in Avalanche tokens while its creditor insists on cash or Bitcoin. This liquidity mismatch emerged immediately after Kahn, who orchestrated the shift from agriculture under the AgriFORCE moniker, departed the company.
The leadership vacuum has triggered a sharp market reaction, with shares plummeting 42% to $3.20 since Kahn’s exit. Peter Wylie Jr. currently serves as interim chief executive, operating under a strict 180-day deadline to appoint a permanent CEO acceptable to the lender. Per Woofun AI, the company submitted revised terms to the institutional investor to avoid default.
To waive the breach, AVAX One paid $1.3 million and accepted a principal increase on the remaining debenture from $7.7 million to $8.47 million, an unexplained $770,000 rise. The firm attributed this adjustment to broader restructuring premiums rather than direct penalties. Consequently, approximately $7.42 million remains outstanding on the debt instrument.
The lender has also accelerated capital recovery by raising monthly redemptions from one-twenty-fifth to one-tenth of the original principal.
Additionally, the accelerated conversion price was lowered to 82.5% from 85% of a benchmark based on the three lowest trading prices over the previous 10 trading days. This tightening of terms signals a severe contraction in operational flexibility.
