Tokenized Stock Market Share Flips: Binance bStocks Overtakes xStocks

Woofun AI reports that the hierarchy of tokenized stock issuers has realigned, with Binance bStocks displacing xStocks to secure the second position, trailing only Ondo Finance. This structural shift occurred less than two months after the product's inception, highlighting the rapid velocity at which market share is being redistributed among key players including Robinhood and Changpeng Zhao's platform.

The valuation crossover was confirmed on Aug. 3, when bStocks reached approximately $624 million, overtaking xStocks which stood at roughly $579 million. At that juncture, Ondo Finance maintained its lead with about $927 million in value. By Tuesday, the gap had narrowed but the order remained intact; bStocks held $610.6 million while xStocks recovered slightly to $601.2 million. This data reflects the intense competition in the upper tier of the market, where margins between issuers are tightening despite overall growth.

Per Woofun AI, the broader market expansion provides critical context for these recent standings. One year prior, xStocks led the sector with $40.7 million, followed closely by Robinhood at $37.2 million, while Ondo Finance held a negligible $65,000. The total value tracked by Token Terminal has surged from roughly $80 million to about $2.7 billion, indicating that the entire asset class has grown exponentially rather than just reshuffling existing liquidity.

Binance launched bStocks on June 11 to provide exposure to US stocks through blockchain-based tokens, allowing investors to gain economic benefits without directly owning the underlying shares. Changpeng Zhao attributed the product's swift ascent to the leverage provided by Binance's extensive user base. This strategy demonstrates how established exchange infrastructure can rapidly capture market share in emerging digital asset categories.
