CoreWeave Shares Rise 7% on First Asia-Pacific Data Center Expansion in Indonesia
CoreWeave enters Indonesia with 360MW of capacity, marking its APAC debut. The move supports localized AI demand, boosting shares 7% to a $501B market cap amid rising capex.
Woofun AI reports that CoreWeave announced its entry into Indonesia, establishing three new data centers to mark its first deployment in the Asia-Pacific region. The facilities will provide 360 megawatts of contracted power capacity, with CoreWeave retaining ownership and operational control. The company cited growing demand for low-latency computing and data localization among Asian enterprises and governments as key drivers for this regional expansion.
The initiative includes training a local operations team to support facility management and foster the local AI industry. As of March 2026, CoreWeave operated 49 global data centers, with projected capital expenditures reaching $31 billion to $35 billion by 2026. Recent partnerships include an expanded $21 billion agreement with Meta and a multi-year deal with Anthropic. Shares closed up 7.16% at $90.76, valuing the company at $501 billion.
