Woofun AI reports that Matt Furie, creator of Pepe, resumed activity on X after a nine-month hiatus in early August. Within a week, the account posted content and contract addresses for HOODRAT, DORK, and BOYZ, most of which were subsequently deleted. On August 9, the account stated it had been compromised and did not endorse any counterfeit cryptocurrencies, asserting that such warnings were already present on its official website.

On-chain analyst @StandartXBT observed that HOODRAT's market cap spiked then dropped after the related tweets, while the DORK creator executed bundled purchases, extracted liquidity, and sold for significant ETH profits. Web archive checks revealed no prior warnings on Furie's website or X, casting doubt on the hacking narrative.
