Larry Florio@larryflorio · 2026/08/19政策影响I got tired of the Word add-in I was using for redlines, so I described the one I wanted and built it instead.
It's a thin pane inside Word wired to my own agent setup. Claude Code and Codex both sit attached to the open document, with the necessary skills and context files loaded. Every edit lands as a native tracked change or an anchored comment, nothing writes to the doc without me approving the change.
When the agents disagree about a section, I get both proposals and pick one (or send them back to argue it out).
It was built in a few days on an old headless Mac Mini while I was doing other stuff. I didn't code any of this myself. I didn't even write the spec! I described what I wanted, and the agents wrote the spec, the fixtures to test against, and the rules about what it is never allowed to touch. I mostly just supervised the process.
Under the hood this is just Office.js, a local server and a shared chatroom between the agents. It's the old wrapped up in something new with a little bit of duct tape to hold it together.
By far the coolest part isn't that this tool exists now, it's that "I wish Word did X" is now an autopiloted side project for a lawyer with no engineering team and barely any coding experience.
Describe what you want, be specific about what you don't want, and you basically just get it.
The hard part isn't the code, it's knowing what you want.
