Wintermute moved 5,100 bitcoin onto Binance across Sunday and Monday, about 400 million dollars. Coins going to an exchange usually gets read as selling. Wintermute is a market maker though, so shifting inventory is the job. Worth watching, not worth panicking over.

Someone asked me on stream what actually makes a coin a blue chip. I have been using the same four checks for years and I have never written them down in one place, so here they are. First, it has to be big. Top 50 by market cap, maybe top 100 if I am being generous. Not because big coins are better businesses. Because early in a bull run money moves on name recognition, and the names people recognise are the big ones. Second, it has to have more than two cycles of history. An older coin has been through a full bear market and come out the other side alive. A coin that has only ever existed during a bull run has not been tested by anything yet. Third, it has to still be above its last bear market floor. This one cuts more coins than people expect. If something is trading below where it bottomed last cycle, the market has already told you what it thinks, and you do not need a thesis to hear it. Fourth, it has to have actually performed in the last bull run. Not the tech is good. Not the partnership is huge. Did the price go up when everything around it went up? If it could not perform when conditions were as good as they ever get, it is fair to ask what you are waiting for. That is the whole screen. Two minutes a coin. The part I like is that not one of those four checks needs me to have an opinion. They are all things you can look up in a few clicks. Market cap, launch date, previous cycle low, last bull run performance. Four numbers. The opinion comes afterwards, once the list is already short. A lot of altcoin arguing happens over coins that never got past the third check, and that is usually the tell. When someone has to explain at length why the price being under the last bear market low does not count, the screen has already done its job and the explanation is doing the work the chart will not. This does not tell you what to buy. It tells you what is even worth your time, which is a different and much earlier question.
