Is tokenization the end game for finance? I recently had the opportunity to unpack this question during my first ever live TV appearance on VIU TV. It was also my first full Cantonese interview, hosted by Rachel from @cyberport_hk Hong Kong. We dove deep into the state of Web3 in Hong Kong, focusing on two major themes: 1/ Cyberport & Government Support: -The ecosystem here is unmatched. Through the Blockchain Pilot Scheme and Creative Micro Fund, Cyberport is driving innovation with KPI-based grants. More importantly, they provide the critical infrastructure to connect startups with regulators and HK corporates, ensuring strict regulatory alignment. 2/ The True Value of Tokenization: -Moving financial products on-chain is often praised for operational efficiency, but blockchain is more than a reconciliation layer. The real magic is composability. RWA tokens make assets vastly more fungible.  -The ability to post a tokenized asset as collateral, borrow against it, and deploy it across cross-chain yield strategies in an open marketbypassing clunky bilateral agreements is the true superpower of tokenization.
