The stated problem is that off app KYC sucks from a UX perspective. And each "issuer" has it's own specific rules. That is solvable imo - we are building that with Passage @ CoinList. Access Superstate, Securitize, etc. with one workflow in your app. KYC itself will limit growth of RWAs compared to Stablecoins. This proposal for an alternative model based on geo-fencing is super interesting. I'm not sure US based issuers, even if they move asset issuance off-shore, are going to embrace this design without blessing from US regulators. The cost to non-compliance is too high. US capital markets are too big to take the risk. And the majority of offshore demand is into US based capital markets. Someone should try it though and if they can prove the demand, then US based issuers may be more willing to take the risk/reward tradeoff. At the same time, the wrapper model effectively worked for stablecoins and although not perfect, may be "sufficient" for the needs of offshore investors. The wrapper is exactly what a stablecoin is after all.

Saw 3 different wind downs from crypto projects today. That’s after what feels like 100+ in the past months. Startups grow and die all the time. This is normal and honestly more mature than how it was handled in prior cycles (silent quitting/rug). Kudos to our maturity I guess?
