If Abstract never gets a token out, then it’s outright just worse than Blast. Whatever shortcomings came after, at least Blast gave users of their chain some semblance of ROI.

Blast to Shut Down After Raising $20 Million From Paradigm and Others in 2023 Ethereum Layer 2 network Blast announced that it will shut down, saying the ongoing cost of maintaining the chain now exceeds the revenue generated by the L2 and that it sees no credible path to becoming economically sustainable. Users are being asked to withdraw assets to Ethereum mainnet by October 26, with the withdrawal delay set to be reduced to 24 hours. After that date, assets will remain withdrawable through Blast’s bridge contracts on Ethereum L1. Blast launched in early access in November 2023 after raising $20 million from investors including Paradigm and Standard Crypto.

The Blast points meta was something else People were literally moving money around just to farm points and hope the eventual airdrop paid them back And for a while, it worked Billions entered the chain Then the airdrop happened and the attention slowly disappeared Now Blast is shutting down Maybe the real product was the farming all along That whole cycle happened way faster than I expected

🐋 WHALE WATCH : END OF AN ERA $BLAST is officially shutting down its L2 chain. Remember when billions flooded in just to farm points ? People were moving capital across chains 24/7 chasing that eventual airdrop payout. The meta was electric until the token dropped attention vanished and the overhead costs finally killed the model. Make sure you withdraw your funds before the October 26 interface deadline. What a wild cycle.
