A swarm of agents can look intelligent while still producing untrusted state. That distinction matters. Multi-agent systems are moving quickly because the pattern is obviously powerful: split work across specialized actors, let them coordinate, critique, route, summarize, and solve problems no single agent handles well. It is the right direction. Intelligence is becoming distributed. But distributed intelligence is not the same as decentralized truth. A group of agents can agree and still be wrong. They can coordinate and still hallucinate. They can produce a polished answer and still leave a contract, market, or robotic system with no verifiable basis for action. The swarm is not the product. Verified truth is.
