🛰️ Launching the ROSS Club at the University of Alberta We recently established a dedicated R&D team for remote observation focused research: ROSS (Remote Observation, Sensing & System) at the Multimedia Research Centre (MRC) https://t.co/AFuPzQP09V. The team turns remote signals into decisions, combining satellite, drone, robotic and ground sensing with AI across earth observation, agriculture, infrastructure and environmental monitoring. The ROSS Club is our student-oriented community, run for students and open to all UofA students with no prerequisites: talks and intro sessions on satellites, drones and multimodal sensing, hack sessions on real datasets, field demos and flight days, and connections with ROSS researchers, industry partners and the wider sensing community. Our first event: Remote Sensing in Agriculture 🎤 Joshua Billson, PhD Student, MRC 📅 Wed Aug 19, 1:00–2:30 pm (MT) 📍 Hybrid: UCOMM 4-140 @UAlberta + open Zoom (no passcode) Joshua will cover how satellite, aerial and drone imaging supports crop mapping, plant health assessment, disease detection and yield prediction, plus where the field is heading: multi-temporal learning, foundation models for Earth observation, object-centric approaches and large language models in remote sensing workflows. I know there are many fancy terminals and multiplexers. First, I still think it’s best to stay terminal-agnostic. Second, if you find a useful feature, just have Codex or Claude migrate it to tmux through either a fork or a plugin. Or you can simply use their desktop versions.

@thsottiaux @ClaudeDevs 1st, credit-based resets are a clear, clean, and effective direction, rather than a full reset for all users (from a user’s perspective). 2nd, a 5-hour weekly Reset Gift Card would be an interesting thing to see.
