Binance Plans UK Return With FCA Crypto License Application Under New Regime

According to The Telegraph, Binance plans to apply for authorization from the UK Financial Conduct Authority under the country’s new crypto regulatory regime, seeking to return to the British market after several years of restrictions. The FCA’s application window will open on September 30, 2026, with the new regime taking effect on October 25, 2027. Firms will be required to establish a UK presence and meet authorization, governance and compliance standards, and Binance is expected to create a UK board as part of the process.

The FCA restricted Binance’s UK entity from carrying out regulated activities in 2021, and Binance later stopped onboarding new UK users in 2023 after changes to the country’s financial-promotion rules.
