Two nonstop days in Shenzhen. Drove straight in from Hong Kong. No flights, no buffer. Just pure immersion.
Completely blown away.
Walked past more than a hundred tech brands in 48 hours.
Touring Nanshan to Shekou, the streets were packed with EVs most of the West still doesn’t recognize:
• Aito SUV
• Xiaomi Ultra (Porsche-inspired)
• Huawei Maestro (Maybach-inspired)
• Zeekr 9X (Cullinan-inspired)
And you know it’s hitting the heart of culture when it’s come straight out of the PS5 Grand Turismo. The much anticipated Xiaomi Vision GT.
Can’t wait.
Met the real movers. Teams hard-coded for excellence — ex-Google, Apple, and deep local talent fusing Eastern manufacturing muscle with Western product vision. Sandbox, Wapitee, Plaud, Looki, Hypershell, Liber Live, Even Reality… then Zpilot’s shops. Watching AI hardware actually get built felt like standing inside the engine room.
Then 华强北 (Huaqiangbei).
Ten-dollar drones. Ten-dollar Android phones. Sensors, microprocessors, tomorrow's hit gadget on Amazon...Not junk. A supply chain so compressed that prices which sound absurd in the West are just Tuesday here.
The energy wasn’t conference energy. It was the real thing. The kind that only shows up when a market is building, at speed, right in front of you.
Elon called it.
