NVIDIA Invests Billions in Sutskever’s SSI, Computing Power to Rise 10x

NVIDIA commits billions to Safe Superintelligence for Vera Rubin infrastructure. SSI computing capacity expected to increase 10-fold within 12 months, accelerating next-gen AI research.

Woofun AI reports that NVIDIA has entered a multi-year strategic partnership with Safe Superintelligence (SSI), founded by Ilya Sutskever, involving a multi-billion dollar investment to support next-generation artificial intelligence research. As part of the agreement, SSI will deploy NVIDIA's Vera Rubin AI computing platform, which is projected to increase available computing power by approximately 10 times over the next 12 months. SSI stated that this acquisition of large-scale computing resources will facilitate further advancement following recent "research breakthroughs worthy of scale-up."

Established in 2024, SSI aims to develop "Safe Superintelligence" and raised approximately $20 billion in funding last year, achieving a valuation of around $32 billion. The company maintains high confidentiality regarding its products and research results. This collaboration follows NVIDIA's previous investments in OpenAI and Thinking Machines Lab, while competitor AMD recently announced up to $5 billion in investment for Anthropic. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang noted that Sutskever has driven significant breakthroughs in foundational AI technologies and expressed anticipation for SSI's future advancements supported by the Vera Rubin platform.
