Claude Sharing Feature Exposes Private Keys and Sensitive Data to Search Engines

Woofun AI reports that a privacy vulnerability in Claude’s sharing feature has allowed search engines to index sensitive user data. Public links generated by users were crawled by Google and Bing, exposing cryptocurrency wallet information, access credentials, resumes, and personal identifiers. Although Anthropic implemented robots.txt blocks, the absence of noindex tags permitted indexing, leading to the public visibility of legal advice and private conversations. While Google results have largely vanished, Bing continues to display approximately 600 indexed entries, with Anthropic yet to confirm full resolution.
