Permacast Secures $8.9M Total Funding With Series A Round Completion
Decentralized data infrastructure project Permacast raises $5M in Series A, bringing total capital to $8.9M from OKX Ventures and others to expand protocol development.
Woofun AI reports that decentralized data infrastructure project Permacast, built on Permaweb, finalized its Series A funding round on January 15, 2025, securing over $5 million. This injection brings the project's cumulative financing to $8.9 million, incorporating capital from earlier seed and Pre-A rounds. The seed round attracted OKX Ventures, Big Brain Holdings, ChainVision, Foresight Research, and Digital Humanism (DRF), while the Pre-A round included ClearingPoint, 7 O'Clock Capital, Cipholio Ventures, SilverFox Foundation, and private investors.
The Series A round features CoinSummer, angel investor Tomasz Boryniec, Waterwood Investment (Tsinghua), Scorpio VC, and additional private backers. Permacast stated that funds will accelerate protocol development, expand decentralized network infrastructure, enhance ecosystem partnerships, and grow engineering and product teams, citing growing demand for trustworthy, permanent, and verifiable data infrastructure as AI models reshape information usage.
