Trump: Congress Should Pass a Fair Version of the CLARITY Act

On August 19, U.S. President Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump said at a White House event with technology industry leaders that the United States had launched "Project Crypto" to facilitate the adoption of blockchain technology in financial markets and established a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, making Bitcoin a permanent asset of the U.S. Treasury.

He said the GENIUS Act was named after one of his own defining traits because he did not want to use his actual name, adding that the law had paved the way for the widespread adoption of dollar-backed stablecoins. Trump then called on Congress to pass a fair version of the CLARITY Act, saying it would keep the United States ahead and open the door to the next wave of innovation.
